Created in 1979, GEST Hastings motorcycle club started simply as a group of friends who shared a passion for riding bikes on dirt! A group of ’60s ‘bikers’ who had found a new style of bike, but unfortunately had not many places to ride. ‘GEST’ , is an acronym for “Grass-Track, Enduro, Scrambles & Trials’- all the different disciplines of off-road riding that the creators intended on promoting. The initial membership was small and has grown steadily to three over its 40+ years.
GEST is a not-for-profit organisation that donates surpluses to charity- not least an orangutang sanctuary in Borneo and at one time had a surgical room in Great Ormond street children’s hospital named after it after making a generous donation. We also make donations to local parishes in which we hold our events.
